Symposium Speaker: Buckingham

Mary Buckingham  M.A.,  psychology alumna, is  a 5th year graduate student at the Institute for Applied Research in Youth Development in the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University. She will be presenting Empathy in context: Research and the power of perspective.   Students, faculty members and others who are planning to attend should register at the SJC Student Research Symposium website.

Part-Time Summer Research Internship

The intern will support Public Agenda’s small research team with a variety of tasks related to our research work around participatory budgeting processes in the U.S. and Canada and other projects. The intern will assist with building, updating and maintaining data bases, thematic coding of documents and interview transcripts, internet research, fact checking, proofreading.

The ideal candidate would be a team-orientated undergraduate, or a student in the beginning of their master’s program, with an interest in applied research, local political processes and/or public policies and civic engagement. We are hoping to find someone who has great attention to detail, is very well organized and reliable. We are a fun organization of 20+ people with a lot going on. The intern will have the opportunity to meet many other staff and also find out about our public engagement and communications work.

The length of the position will depend on the work flow. We can guarantee work for 6 weeks (perhaps more) for 16/hours a week at $12/hour.
